Your Honour Will Keep My Martyred Son's Sacrifice Alive"

NEW DELHI, YOGRAJ SHARMA, Sri Ram Sewa Sansthan, in association with Sursangam Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and World Sports & Entertainment, organised a grand and dignified Kargil Vijay Samman Samaroh-2026 at Satyawati College Auditorium, Ashok Vihar, New Delhi. The event was dedicated to commemorating India's historic victory in the 1999 Kargil War and paying homage to the 527 brave officers and soldiers who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Sh. Surendra Mehra, Commandant, CRPF and President's Gallantry Medal Awardee, along with other distinguished guests. This was followed by the National Anthem and patriotic songs, creating an atmosphere of pride, gratitude, and reverence for the nation's heroes.

The Chief Guest, Sh. Rajbhushan Chaudhary, Hon'ble Minister of State, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, praised the initiative of Sri Ram Sewa Sansthan and its associate organisations. In his address, he said that the sacrifices of the Kargil heroes would continue to inspire generations of Indians and that such programmes strengthen the values of patriotism, service, and national unity among the youth.

A major highlight of the event was the felicitation of the families of 15 Kargil War martyrs, including the family of Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey and Sena Medal awardee Major C. B. Dwivedi. The audience greeted the brave families with prolonged applause and deep respect.

The most emotional moment of the evening came when an elderly gentleman voluntarily came onto the stage after seeing the event poster outside Satyawati College. He introduced himself as the father of a soldier who had laid down his life during the Kargil War. While receiving the honour, he said with tears in his eyes:

"Your honour will keep my martyred son's sacrifice alive. After so many years, it is heartening to see an organisation remembering our martyrs with such dignity and respect."

His heartfelt words left the entire auditorium deeply moved. Many members of the audience were seen wiping away tears as the hall observed a moment of profound silence in memory of the nation's brave heroes.

Among the distinguished guests present were MLAs Smt. Poonam Bhardwaj, Sh. Raj Kumar Bhatia, Sh. Ashok Goel and Sh. Ajay Mahawar; Councillors Smt. Veena Aseeja, Sh. Vikesh Sethi, Sh. Sushil Jonti and Smt. Renu Agrawal. The programme was also attended by Sushri Rochika Aggarwal, National Spokesperson, BJP, and Sh. Sunil Jindal, President, Vyapaar Prakoshth, Delhi BJP, along with several eminent personalities from social, cultural, and public life.

The special performance by Indian Idol fame singer Saloni Saaz was one of the major attractions of the evening. Renowned singers Rashmi Sharma, Yogesh Mallik, Ashwini Sharma, Sapna Bhatnagar, and other artists captivated the audience with patriotic and evergreen Bollywood melodies.

Another major attraction was the powerful performance by Sh. Ram Manohar Mishra, a Delhi Police officer and renowned singer. His soulful and energetic patriotic songs filled the auditorium with pride and enthusiasm, earning repeated rounds of applause. His tribute through music created a deep emotional connection with the audience and reinforced the spirit of patriotism. Inspector Prabhanshu Kumar's patriotic poem was equally appreciated and received a standing ovation. Cultural performances by children from NGO Prayas and dance presentations by Ms. Monika Bhardwaj of Trimona Dance Academy added further colour and vibrancy to the event.

The elected representatives present unanimously stated that such programmes are an effective way of inspiring the younger generation to honour the sacrifices of the nation's soldiers and strengthen the spirit of nationalism. They congratulated the organisers for conducting such a meaningful event.

As a gesture of support for the martyr families, SOGO Cure and Anand Herbal Cosmetics India, represented by Sh. Anil Sachdeva, presented gift hampers to the honoured families. Car 4 You, represented by Sh. Ranjeet Babbar, also presented special gifts to the martyr families.

During the ceremony, Special Covid Warrior Awards were presented to businessman and social worker Sh. Harish Pruthi in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian and religious services during the COVID-19 pandemic. His contribution was highlighted as an inspiring example of selfless service. Other awardees included former IGP of Punjab Sh. Suresh Sharma, Ms. Deepti Sharma Joshi, and the Director of Global Healthcare, among other distinguished personalities.

Ms. Caroline Arthur, Staff Nurse, NDMC, was honoured for her dedicated service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Special awards were also presented to journalists Sh. Hari Sharma, Sh. Dipanshu, Ms. Rishali Yadav, and Sh. Yograj Sharma for their outstanding contribution to journalism and social service.

The successful organisation of the programme was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the organising committee comprising Prabhanshu Kumar, Sanjay Wadhwa, Anil Sachdeva, Ajay Goel, Harish Pandit, R.
